It's a cliche, I know, but the pictures of the Taj do not do the place justice. It is absolutely majestic and glitters in the sunlight. Buying tickets at the kiosk is a snap. You pass through security and then into the sanctuary area which is wide and majestic. There is a queue to get into the building, although honestly the inside is not much. The site requires a good deal of walking and people with mobility issues will have trouble because it is not handicap accessible. The area around the site can be dangerous. People have had their backpacks ripped open and purses snatched. Avoid the monkeys.
Visiting the Taj Mahal was the experience of a lifetime. We were blown away with the majesty of the building and surrounds. We visited early in the morning and there were quite a lot of people there but totally easy. The staff were easily approached. So happy to have visited this beautiful site.
