The museum is housed in a magnificent Indo-Saracenic-style building, designed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob. It was opened in 1887 and is one of the oldest museums in Rajasthan. It houses a diverse range of objects, including paintings, sculptures, textiles, jewelry, and decorative arts. One of the most unique and famous exhibits in the museum is the Egyptian Mummy, which attracts visitors from all over the world. This mummy is a significant and rare piece of the museum's collection.
